So Maddux wants a dinosaur room. And he’s very specific. He wants friendly dinosaurs. Not scary ones. Do you know how hard it is to find friendly dinosaurs that are not pastel colored and made for a nursery? Harder than you would think. Luckily I plan on using a few things we already have. The kid has dinosaurs upon dinosaurs. He already has dino bedding… lamps… storage bins.
So we have a good starting point.
So I figure I’ll start off with the plan and then go into the details a bit (including the sources… just in case you have a dinosaur lover yourself)
So starting at the top… going left to right… ready?
The first two are stencil ideas that are from Pinterest that would be a bit of a DIY adventure. I am leaning toward the dino tracks but I need to run it by my little picky 6 year old and see if he’s cool with that. Not all over… I am thinking just a few … on one part of a wall…
The next thing is the map made out of dinosaurs. I loved this when I found it. Like REALLY loved it. Then I was scared to show it to him… because it was the first dinosaur thing I was excited about… so I just KNEW he wouldn’t like it. But to my surprise he loves it. I will be honest. he thinks that if you go to that place on the map… that is the type of dino bone you will find. I didn’t want to ruin it…. so I agreed. Just so I get my way on this one poster. Because its adorable. The link is here
I think these little dino planters are cute. But I am leaning towards maybe a DIY version of bookends or something. But I have this on here… for inspiration.
The leaf canopy is from Ikea. I don’t know if they still sell it in the store… but I did find them on Amazon and Ebay pretty easy. I thought it would be cute and fit in? I don’t know why leaf says dinosaur to me… but it does.
This little boy print laying down dreaming of dinosaurs in the clouds is about the sweetest thing I have seen. The link is here
Maddux is obsessed with this Dinosaur Head. apparently… this is exactly what a happy dino should look like :) We ordered this last weekend.
The shelves of dinos is just another work with what you got idea. I figure it would be appropriate to display all of his dino toys up on a shelf :)
I can’t help it. Something about inspirational words… I love it. I can’t decide between these two yet. I like them both for different/ yet the same reasons. I want Maddux to go after anything he is passionate about… and to have courage to do so. I should pretty much buy stock in house of belonging… I want every single sign they make.
I love the dino hooks. This is a quick and easy DIY.
And this rug. I love this rug.
So there are the plans for the boy’s rooms. Which has been the easiest part of all of this.
I am anxious to get started! It will be a very long month ahead!
