… If you were to come over and share a cup of coffee with me this morning….
…I would probably as you if you watched the game Wednesday night… or what your plans were for watching it tonight. Jerry prefers to watch it at home. It’s weird. He could go to the game. We have tickets. But he doesn’t want to. He has like 8 million reasons on why he wants to stay home. I think he would watch it with family or friends but… he honestly paces the whole game. And turns up the commentary to an ungodly volume… and I am pretty sure he only breathes on commercials. He claims he doesn’t want to miss a second of the game… and the idea of watching it in the bar and not hearing the commentary sounds like the worst idea in the world. It’s weird. I think it’s weird. But I am okay with it. I hope they win… for so many reasons… but honestly … I’m worried about Jerry’s health. I am not kidding. He doesn’t breathe while he watches it… I mean the game was 4-0 and he still wasn’t breathing.
… Remember how a few weeks ago I said the wife gets blamed for like everything…. Well… don’t worry I have heard from multiple people that he is not going to the game because of me. Which is crazy. Sometimes I wonder if those people ever take the time to get to know Jerry. Because they should know how ridiculously into every detail is… and how sitting in a bar or sitting at the field he misses it. I mentioned… well they say the atmosphere at the park is going to be unreal…. And his reply was … “Fawn, the atmosphere in our home is as unreal as I need it to be” So there’s that. I guess I should just realize that those people just don’t know him… or know what they are talking about and just let them think what they want.
… I would probably tell you that in the past week I think I have watched Jurassic World 5 times. That’s crazy right? I mean I could blame it on Maddux… or even Jerry. But nope. I have just turned it on all by myself. Maybe is Chris Pratt? Ill blame that. Have you seen it? I love it. Jerry said he didn’t like it as much as the first because he didn’t jump and wasn’t as scared as he was with Jurassic Park…. To which I had to point out well… you aren’t 9 years old either. So maybe that was part of it? Today… I am apparently just going to tell you how strange my husband is. But seriously?!?!?! How can you compare the movie based on that? I would hope you could handle the fear of these pretend dinosaurs at the age of 33 compared to the age of 9… honey.
… I would tell you my dad’s birthday is this weekend. I am trying to figure out what to do with him. But he will be at my niece’s softball tournament 90% of the weekend… so planning something is challenging. But I wouldn’t expect anything less. I am sure I have said it multiple times but my dad shows up to everything. Sometimes I take it for granted. But he is there always. I know that my kids are going to look back at that… and remember that. Because I am telling you my grandpa being there for every sporting event… dance recital…. Everything is something I hold very dear to this day. He didn’t buy us expensive presents… or anything like that. He just showed up.. And it takes a while to figure it out… but that’s a whole lot of love to dedicate so much time to your grandchildren. My grandpa had 2. My dad has 4… and he still does such a great job at just being there for all of them at any time he can. If he misses something…. It’s because he is attending something else for another one. So I need to make sure he knows how much we appreciate it. Even if he drives me crazy most days…. :) I am so incredibly lucky to have him.
… I would probably bring up this conversation we have had recently… Jerry and I. About how I don’t really like pizza. It’s not something I ever get excited about. Once in a while I want a pizza with everything on it… which is the way Jerry likes it too so it works out. But that’s rare. Like once every 6 months rare. I don’t get why people get so excited about pizza. However, I was talking to my mom and Jerry about Hawaii and my mom found a taco place that was supposed to be fabulous… and we were all excited about it… and Jerry was like… that … that is how the rest of the world feels about pizza. How you guys feel about tacos. Maybe that’s true? Who doesn’t get excited for tacos though? So where are you at? Pizza or taco? I have a feeling most of you will side with Jerry. However to be honest… don’t let him fool you… he NEVER asks for pizza. He will always pick Chinese takeout over pizza delivery… so I don’t know why he pretends to have this love of pizza either :)
… by then the baby would be up and ready for the day to begin… and we would have to say our goodbyes… until next week when we share another cup of coffee…
And in the spirit of the Cubs… I’ll leave with a photo of my dad and Maddux on Family Day at Wrigley a few years ago :)
Go Cubs! – we will be watching it at home… and guess what..> jerry requested… what’s that? Not pizza? but taco dip?? weird.
