Stitch Fix Review #3.
In case you are just tuning in… Here is the low down on Stitch Fix. You go online… sign up & fill out a styling survey. Then they pull out 20 bucks as a styling fee… they mail you five items that you try on… and you pay for what you like… return what you don’t. that $20 styling fee is applied to whatever you keep. Gone forever… if you keep nothing. It’s fun & easy for lazy people like me :)
So back to the box.
This month… I love my stylist. Love her. Her response card was fantastic. She read my comments… looked over my pinterest board. And I genuinely felt like she was trying to find things that fit me.
I promised myself I would only keep a few items here and there. I really have no need to buy 5 items in a month. It’s wasteful. I’m frugal.
If I were a normal person. I would have bought all 5 items this month. Now. I only loved 4 of them. But if you keep all 5… it ends up being cheaper since you get 25% off if you keep everything (should have mentioned that above) But remember that lazy thing that was mentioned… well I am too lazy to edit this post. Moving on.
So back to this month’s fix. Below are the awkward selfies.
I requested fall items… ripped boyfriend jeans… plaid… scarves… cardigans… blazers. And well she tried to send me all those things
She commented that they did not have any boyfriend jeans in my size at the moment so she sent me these instead… (yes I am standing on a stool… Im too short for you to see the jeans .. ) (Top is Ann Taylor – online Clearance Gem – 18 bucks. its my favorite weekend top. Im obsessed)
Kut From The Kloth Haiden Distressed Straight Leg Jean $88
I love them. Now as all you know I have been trying to lose this stubborn baby weight and I could really use a good pair of weekend jeans during this in between size that I am. I thought these could work for after too… because well I will wear loose fitting ripped jeans… so in my head it’s worth the money. These actually fit perfect in the size I am… I’m obsessed.
So I kept these this month. This is the only item I ended up keeping this month… because again… that whole cheap frugal thing
Skies Are Blue – Joanne Tab Sleeve Knit Top $48
Now this… was the one item I did not like. It’s not terrible. Not just… me. She did mention that they did not have any flannels so she sent me this instead. So it was a good try. So I liked that she honestly tried. But… no thanks
Collective Concept Vienna Cable Knit Cardigan $78
Guys… this item…. I loved. I just made myself choose between this and the jeans. Part of me wants her to send it to me next month. But then I would look crazy and there has been an elbow patch cardigan bouncing around others stitch fix boxes that I am hoping I get. Plus I have bad luck with this color. I just know Ill ruin it. But… ugh. Part of me wishes I would have kept it. It was comfy… super comfy. Darn it.
Octavia Campbell Window Pane Scarf $28
Well I love a good scarf like any of you ladies out there reading this. I actually liked this one quite a bit. However it was fraying already… and one good tug from Maddux and this thing would have been finished. So it wasn’t anything amazing. So I decided to send it back. But like I said… if I wasn’t forcing myself to stay under a $ amount every month on clothes… I would have kept her.
Tart Salma French Terry Striped Knit Blazer $128
This one was interesting. It was soft and comfy… and casual. It would never need to be ironed… which had me swooning immediately. I wasn’t a huge fan of the shoulder pads… I’m not a shoulder pad gal. but I could have cut those out. The price tag was pretty steep. So it just wasn’t in the cards this month. But I thought it was super cute
So there you have it. My monthly Stitch Fix box.
I loved this box. I requested Cynthee again and I hope that I get her. We have some fall family photos coming up soon and I am hoping that she can send me something cute for that little photo shoot. I have been pinning away and hoping that she will take a look and send me something similar.
It’s kind of great that if you pin something… there is someone that finds it and mails you something similar. I hate trying to find clothes on my own. Life is so busy that shopping in a store is hard… and shopping online sometimes doesn’t work out. My size changes by store … so its hard to keep track of it. I hate ordering something … getting it and it not fitting. And then not being able to return it… because who am I Kidding?? I only shop off the all sales final clearance section online.
So this way I get stuff sent to me…. I get to try them on and send back anything that doesn’t work.
If you are thinking about trying Stitch Fix. I would love it if you would use my referral code. Help a sista out?
